NRT-0241 Storm Worm Masquerades as Phony Virus Warning:
If you receive an email warning that a virus or spyware has been detected on your system, just delete it. That's the most recent advice coming from the Internet Storm Center after the virulent Storm worm morphed from last week's Fourth of July greeting into this latest trick. This time, there is a different subject line and different text, but the same potential infection. The Australian Computer Emergency Response Team (AusCERT) reported seeing emails giving users phony warnings of viruses and spyware. This software contains backdoor functionality to allow a remote attacker to fully control a system and currently this malware is not well detected by many anti-virus vendors.
