NRT-0431 HTML Formatted email SPAM:
McAfee Avert Labs researchers are warning that spammers are using HTML-formatted email with an
apparent Google Web site link to lure unsuspecting users to malicious Web sites or executables.
The link resembles a Google page ad, which conceals the web site's actual URL. The URL begins
with www.google.com which leads people to trust it, according to a McAfee threat researcher.
Spammers reportedly have applied the same technique with MSN and Yahoo web sites.
This exploit has been used for several months and initially tried to attract individuals to
click on the spammers' web sites; however, researchers believe that sending users to malicious
sites is a new tactic.
