NRT-0447 Blackberry Theft Recovery Software:
GadgetTrak, a provider of theft recovery software for mobile devices, has released an
edition that supports Blackberry smartphones. If a Blackberry device is stolen, the
software enables the device to silently send information regarding the thief's identity
via text messaging and email. The information includes any new phone nuymber assigned
to the device, subscriber IDs, unique phone ID, as well as cell tower identification.
Mobile phone theft is becoming increasingly burdensome for businesses and over the next
few years will quickly equal or surpass laptop theft, according to the summary.
