Transportation

Flying to Eugene

You may be aware that the airlines have been in a process of change the last year. Here is the update on how to get to Eugene by air from various hubs, with direct Eugene flights; from:

General Information

A tour to the Oregon coast, destination; Sea Lion Caves north of Florence Oregon. From the viewpoint at the caves, there is a fine view of the Heceta Head Lighthouse. Also, we will visit Florence , Oregon.

The Convention & Visitors Association of Lane County Oregon maintains several links to area attractions and information.

The second major tour is up the "Willamette" highway with views of Diamond Peak; a good visit at spectacular Salt Creek Falls and as we have climbed 5,000 feet we come across Odell Lake. Here we will stop for lunch at the Odell Lake Lodge.

Our tours are being arranged by Lou Ann at Eugene Tours LLC.

There are other shorter tours as well: The many antique stores of Coburg, Oregon; a covered bridge tour, and of course a visit to a couple of fine local wineries. For those who do not wish to attend the NCVA General Meeting on Tuesday September 2, there is a short shopping tour of some pretty unique "Eugene" places.

Hotel Information

Our Hotel, the Eugene Hilton and Conference Center will accept reservations for the Eugene reunion beginning 1 September, 2002. Be sure to specify the Naval Cryptologic Veteran's Association reunion. The rate is $94 plus room tax. There are 250 rooms blocked, and if possible please register early so we can determine the need for any overflow. (Phone numbers for the hotel are available at the top of this page.

Breakfast: The Hilton is aware of the large numbers of members and guests who may wish to make one or both of the early morning day tours. The hotel will provide some Breakfast choices early enough for you to make the 0800 tours.

Smoking policy: The city of Eugene, like many other cities, does not permit smoking in bars, or work-places. The NCVA hospitality room is non-smoking. The Hilton will provide tables on the outdoor patio for smoking. This area is also the location for the Gigantic "Steel Beach," Picnic, Patio Party, and BBQ.

NOTE: The Eugene Hilton rooms on the 3rd floor are designated smoking rooms. If you prefer a smoking room, request a room on this floor. If there is not a smoking room available, please contact "Grady" Lewis.
