NCVA Golf Outing
Charleston, SC

Date: September 16, 2004

Time: 0800 Shotgun Start

Place: Patriots Point Links, Mt. Pleasant, SC

Patriot Point is a SC links-style course that borders Charleston Harbor. It is unique in Charleston courses since several of the holes parallel the waters of the harbor and offer some great views, including Fort Sumter. The course is located adjacent to the Charleston Harbor Marina and Resort and the Patriots Point Maritime Museum. The course features a signature hole that is a par three, shooting from an elevated tee onto a small green located in a salt marsh bordering the water. If the wind is up, we wish you lots of luck. Adjacent to the clubhouse is a first class practice range, and in the clubhouse is a fully equipped pro-shop and very nice snackbar. There may be some additional rules allowances made depending upon the condition of the course. These will be announced at the tournament.

Format: We call this a Jumble. There will be six holes Scramble (Captain's Choice), 6 holes Shamble, and six holes of Best Ball. A Shamble is when all four people tee off, selecting the best drive. Then, all four players hit from the spot of the drive, but continue playing their own ball until holed. The teams two best scores will be recorded for the Shamble and the Best Ball, and one score recorded for the Captain's Choice. The scorecards will be customized to facilitate scoring.

Cost: $65.00 per golfer.
Make checks out to: A. J. Pelletier
1026 Live Oak Avenue
Moncks Corner, SC 29461
Mark the checks: GOLF

More details will be provided as we get closer to the trounament.

For additional information and to register your teams contact the Tournament Chariman, Frank Courtney.

RV Accommodations

We have reserved RV sites at the Mt Pleasant KOA (sites all located together) for those that are interested. Reservations are listed under the Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association. Toll free number is (800) 562-5796. This is located north of Charleston and is a very nice facility (Probably a 20 minute drive to the Convention Center). Also, the Charleston Air Force Base (about 10 minutes from the Convention Center) has a nice campground (if you are active, reserve, or retired military of course) - they do not take reservations! However, their number is (843) 963-5271 and it's first come first serve only! We still are working the details with the Convention Center parking authority to have some extra reserved parking near the host hotels and Convention Center. This latter option is for full rigs....you will need generators for power as there are no hook ups of any kind.
