Lewis (N7FCO) of the Northwest Group, are presenting Portland,
Oregon, for NCVA in 2009. The team has selected the Red Lion On The
River to be the reunion hotel. The river is the Columbia, at
Portland, the border between Oregon and Washington state. The
reunion is scheduled for September 9, 10, 11 and 12, 2009.
Activities include a trip to a live volcano, a visit to the Spruce Goose, the
impressive Astoria
Maritime Museum, a drive east in the breathtaking Columbia
Gorge and even more! If you did CT duty on USS
BLUEBACK, you can visit her as well, just 13 minutes from the
hotel. You can also witness "living history" at the
End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in nearby
Oregon City.Portland, the Rose City, is a hub for most airlines,
and if your transportation is by boat, moorage is not far away.
Hotel rates start at $101, with higher rates for special view
rooms.
