Travel by luxury motorcoach through the Yamhill countryside, along winding roads, through small towns, past fruit orchards and filbert groves. Visit Sleighbells Holiday Barn, a world‑class gift shop located on a sixty acre Christmas Tree Farm. Shop for holiday decorations and specialty products in this inviting shop, or walk among the fields of Douglas, Noble and Grand Fir Trees. Then we're off to the Evergreen Aviation Museum, home of the Spruce Goose. Explore the Howard Hughes "Flying Boat," and a diverse collection of over forty vintage aircraft from 1903 to the jet age. Enjoy a box lunch and winetasting at the museum. Following lunch we'll visit Duck Pond Cellars located in this world‑renowned grape growing region. Like the great wine regions of France and Germany, Oregon's wine country is blessed with a long, moderate growing season, which has proven ideal for such grapes as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and White Rieslings. Yamhill County's winemakers consistently produce wines which receive the highest honors in many American and international wine competitions. Taste such wines as Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot at this charming winery.

Portland, is an intimate city with short blocks, elegant parks, bridges, artwork, numerous fountains and intriguing architecture. This narrated scenic windshield tour travels along Tom McCall Waterfront Park, on the Willamette River; through the Skidmore/Old Town; Chinatown, Pearl, and Nob Hill Districts; and City Center where you'll see the Forecourt Fountain designed to suggest the Northwest's abundant waterfalls; Pioneer Courthouse Square, a public square often referred to as the city's "living room;" and Portland's Cultural District which houses the Oregon Historical Society, Portland Art Museum, and Portland Center for the Performing Arts. From downtown we'll continue our tour traveling 1,000 feet above the city to the Pittock Mansion, once the home of pioneers Henry and Georgiana Pittock who's empire included real estate, banking, railroads, steamboats, sheep ranching silver mining and pulp and paper. The mansion which was completed in 1914 incorporates Turkish, English and French Designs using Northwest materials, and includes all of the progressive features of the time - central vacuum system, intercoms, and indirect lighting. Enjoy a self‑guided tour of the mansion, visit the gift shop, and wander through the garden.

Mt. St. Helens

St. Helens Visitor Center, Forest Learning Center, and Johnston Ridge Observatory. Discover what Mt. Spend a day at the Scenic Oregon Coast. Travel west through the Coastal Mountain Range, to Cannon Beach. This artist's community, often referred to as the "Carmel of the North" is the site of Haystack Rock, the third largest monolith in the world. Explore the 7-mile stretch of beach, visit the shops, and enjoy lunch on your own at one of the eateries that line the streets of this bungalow community. Continue along the dramatic coastline to Tillamook for a visit at the Tillamook Cheese Factory to sample their world-famous cheese and maybe get an ice cream cone to enjoy on your return trip to Portland.

Take a drive along the Old Columbia River Gorge Highway and experience the grandeur of the Gorge with its compelling vista from Women's Forum, and charming waterfalls. Feast your eyes on Wahkeena Falls, a Yakima Indian word meaning "most beautiful." Stop at Multnomah Falls, the most spectacular of the waterfalls, and fourth highest in the United States. Explore the falls, visiting the gift shop, interpretive center, and taking a short walk up the paved trail to the Simon Benson Bridge or just stand at the base of the falls and revel in their splendor. Then gaze up at 176' Horsetail Falls before traveling back to Portland along the mighty Columbia River... all on today's waterfall lover's adventure.

Portland, is an intimate city with short blocks, elegant parks, bridges, artwork, numerous fountains and intriguing architecture. This narrated scenic windshield tour travels along Tom McCall Waterfront Park, on the Willamette River; through the Skidmore/Old Town Historic, Pearl and Nob Hill Districts; Chinatown; and City Center. Sites include: the Forecourt Fountain where 13,000 gallons of water per minute cascade through a series of terraces and platforms suggesting the Northwest's abundant waterfalls; Pioneer Courthouse Square, a public square often referred to as the city's "living room;" and Portland's Cultural District which houses the Oregon Historical Society, Portland Art Museum, and Portland Center for the Performing Arts. We'll drop those off who would like to tour the USS BLUEBACK (SS- 581), the US Navy's last non-nuclear sub (at own expense,) while the rest of us visit the 5+ acre International Rose Test Gardens. Established in 1917, the Garden is recognized as the oldest public rose test garden in the United States. Stop and smell the roses and feast your eyes on a sea of color from the over 10,000 roses and 550 varieties.

Scale majestic, snow-capped Mt. Hood in a luxury motorcoach and partake in the splendor that beckons artists, outdoor recreation enthusiasts, and tourists alike. Your tour guide will share the area's history, and ecology as you travel through several small Oregon towns, into the Mt. Hood National Forest, along peaceful trout streams, and through a magnificent forest of evergreens as we ascend to the 6,000 foot level of Mt. Hood, and what is considered the grandest example of Cascadian architecture, Timberline Lodge. The Lodge which was built by the Hundreds of Master Craftsmen employed by the Works Progress Administration during the Great Depression, is the grandest example of Cascadian architecture. Inside and out the Lodge is handmade, from it's handhewn beams to its hand-woven draperies and is inspired by pioneer, Indian and wildlife themes. Timberline is also a year-round ski area and summer home of the U.S. Ski Team. At the Lodge, we'll join the U.S. Forest Service for a film and tour and enjoy a lunch prepared by Timberline's renowned chef, Leif Eric Benson's kitchen.

Travel back in time on today's trip through the Historic Reserve with our special step-on guide. We begin with a narrated tour along the tree-lined Officer's Row past the George C. Marshall House; Grant House, the oldest building at the Reserve, named in honor of Ulysses S. Grant who was stationed at the Fort in 1850, and General O.O. Howard House; to the Pearson Air Museum, the oldest active airfield in the United States and home to the second oldest wooden hanger built in 1918. See Vintage aircraft and exhibits, videos and artifacts that explore the pioneering days of aviation in the Northwest. Next stop, Fort Vancouver. Learn about the fur trade, the Hudson's Bay Company and its importance in the exploration, settlement and development of the Pacific Northwest. Travel by Luxury Motorcoach and discover one of the world's most magnificent landscapes, the Columbia River Gorge. Experience the grandeur of the Gorge with its compelling vistas and enchanting waterfalls. Take a drive along the Old Columbia River Gorge Highway stopping to enjoy commanding views from Women's Forum and Vista House. Then visit Multnomah Falls, the most spectacular of the waterfalls, and fourth highest in the United States. Enjoy lunch at the base of the falls in the historic Multnomah Falls Lodge, an example of "Cascadian Architecture," built in 1925 by famed architect A.E. Doyle. Explore the falls, visiting the gift shop, interpretive center, and taking a short walk up the paved trail to the Simon Benson Bridge or just stand at the base of the falls and revel in their splendor. Following lunch our tour continues on to Bonneville Dam, one of the first of eight federal locks and dams on the Columbia and Snake Rivers, producing "over one million kilowatts, enough to supply power needs of nearly 500,000 homes a year." View fish migrating through underwater fishways, and learn about the Dam's operations, navigational history and fish migration through the numerous educational exhibits. Travel back to Portland along the mighty Columbia River.
