Picture of Rob RudeI am an Amateur Radio operator who is a Life Member of the ARRL (American Radio Relay League), Life Member and Webmaster for FRUPAC (Fleet Radio Unit Pacific) Amateur Radio Group, Life Member of QCWA (Quarter Century Wireless Association), and was the first Webmaster for WWI (Woodbridge Wireless, Inc.) Amateur Radio Club.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, I became interested in SWL (Short Wave Listening) at the age of ten. SWL sparked an interest in Electronics and I began reading Popular Electronics and other low cost publications of the time. Through Popular Electronics I registered my SWL station as WPE0DKI. Eventually I stumbled across more and more articles about amateur radio and decided to delve into that hobby. On twenty-three January of 1964, with the issue of my first Amateur Radio License, I became WN0IHB. I have held numerous calls since then and obtained my present call (AJ0C) in April of 1979.

I served in the U.S. Navy from May of 1969 until June of 1995. Signing up for the Advanced Electronics Program and designated as a "CTM" Communications Technician (Maintenance) striker I attended Electronics Technician "A" School at Treasure Island, San Francisco, California. I've served in: Rota, Spain; Pensacola, Florida; Winter Harbor, Maine; Adak, Alaska; Washington, DC; Diego Garcia, B.I.O.T. Eventually advancing to CTMCS (Senior Chief Cryptologic Technician Maintenance) and then becoming a Chief Warrant Officer (Cryptologic Technician). I retired from the U.S. Navy in June of 1995. I am a Life-Member and Webmaster for the NCVA (U.S. Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association), and a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Ave Maria Council 7880.
